PM²4Eufunds Teaching Activities
Teaching will comprise of the following activities:
The curriculum will be revised to integrate the concept of PM 2 methodology in the BSc level course entitled “International Development Projects”, under the undergraduate project management studies at the UNS, Faculty of technical sciences. This elective course (course code IM1046; ECTS 4) was accredited in 2020 and will be held in the sixth (spring) semester annually, each project year, starting with academic year 2022/2023. Expected number of students attending the course - more than 40 annually.
Course load:
The course will engage three lecturers (Lalic, Gracanin, Ciric Lalic) and external experts as guest lecturers in 15-weeks teaching blocks, three hours each, followed by the tutoring and preparation for the final project seminar pitching.
Course structure & key topics:
Teaching methods will include interactive lectures and provide a theoretical basis for applying advanced tools and techniques in various application areas in EU project management. In addition, students will work on case study analyses project management process simulations and participate in group discussions during the practical work. Finally, divided into teams during the semester, they will prepare the final project seminar. The exercises will encourage group work and learning through gamification. This course will be followed by a designated seminar to direct BSc students’ theses on topics specific to the management of EU-funded projects.
PM²4EUfunds Training Activities
PM²4EUfunds Training Academy aimed at CSOs & student activists will be organised as an annual training program at the University level, starting from the second project year.
The training will engage four trainers (Lalic, Gracanin, Ciric Lalic, Marjanovic) and at least four external experts in four modules, 12.5 hours each.
Training structure & topics:
Our three-phase training approach—Analysis, Design & Development, Implementation—represents a dynamic, flexible guideline for building effective training and performance support tools.
PM²4EUfunds to Outreach Activities
The outreach events will include three back-to-back masterclasses (each per year) address the unique challenges of managing and implementing projects funded under the EU grant schemes. These classes will be organized to debate with stakeholders, policymakers, and representatives of CSOs the most pressing themes of the Module. This will allow to invite and include civil society. To make masterclasses more attractive, they will focus on a particularly hot topic each year:
Three virtual panel discussions will be organized, including international participation. These panels will bring together representatives from various HEIs, public administration, PM² Practitioners to share their personal experiences in EU-funded projects.
5-Door Approach to eLearning:
Innovative learning approach 5-Door Approach to eLearning (Library, Café, Playground, Forest, Assessment) combines different learning styles which will be integrated in development of PM²4EUfunds module.
The Library contains all content resources for the entire module, such as lectures, readings, videos, case
studies, articles, references, other research materials, and various templates needed in the module. As
is the case for all the doors, the Library also includes a variety of library activities that solidify the
learnings.
The Café includes prompts for activities that learners complete through interaction with other people,
engaging socially and constructing knowledge in collaboration with others. While the activities behind
some other doors can be done in solitude, the Café activities require the learner to invite others into the
learning.
The Playground offers learning opportunities for exploration, such as simulations, trial and error
experimentation, or games. Some of these activities can be completed alone, but many will also require
other learners.
The Forest provides an opportunity for individual reflection upon particular content items and/or
activities prompted by instructions but also by various media and activities where the learner takes an
observer role.
The Assessment requires the learner to pass an automated test. The tests are randomized from a broader set of questions and tests for acquiring a certain knowledge base but cannot refer to
experiences gained.
Trainees could access the module via the Online platform (Moodle) maintained by the UNS.
By using a variety of training methods flexibly according to actual requirements, the training will achieve
optimal strategic learning progress and transfer into practical work experience.
The methodological/didactical approach is furthermore based on a deeper insight into the various
channels of learning, which will include the “teach me, show me, do together, do alone with coaching”
approach that will focus highly on the delivery effectiveness, including channels of instructor-led
activities, self-learning, practical work, trial and error on-the-job and best practice sharing among other
users.
